Ethan’s Spring Concert

Fifth graders rocked at their spring concert last week!  The fifth grade band played, and that little trumpeter fella did a great job :)  And he also had a solo in the vocal part of the concert! He nailed that, too!  Great job, Ethan!  Keep up the great music!  It’s fun to watch you play!

It’s a little blurry, but I just LOVE this picture of Ethan and his best friend Uriah!  They are both PK’s, (which I understand can be trouble in itself, LOL)  They have lots of fun together!

Keep having fun with your life, Ethan!

AXE of Murder

Rachel was in a play at the high school this week.  After weeks and weeks of hard work and practice, they performed Axe of Murder in the High School Auditorium on Tuesday.  It was fun to watch!  The kids did a good job, and Rachel and her facial expressions just cracked us UP!

Don’t they look tough??

Great job entire cast and crew!

Could it be SPRING?

The flowers in my yard are suggesting that it could be, although the temperatures today are a bit chillier than I’d like.  My crabapple tree is blooming,

Solo and Ensemble Contest

Cameron and Rachel participated in the High School Solo and Ensemble Contest.  Rachel played in a clarinet duet early in the morning and scored a III rating, which she wasn’t thrilled with but didn’t surprise her.  Later in the day she played in a clarinet quartet.

They did a really great job!  I was impressed.  This group got a II rating which was super!  A very talented group of young ladies!

Cameron and his good friend Anthony (sorry…Tony…but he’s been Anthony since kindergarten and I just can’t call him Tony!), did a trumpet duet.  They played Trumpet Voluntary and Trumpet Tune and those boys NAILED it!  The judge put his pencil down at the end and said “You boys need to hire yourselves out for weddings with that!  People will pay good money for that kind of music at their wedding!”

They scored a I.  Woo HOO!

Congrats and great job to both Cameron AND Rachel!  I LOVE listening to you play!

Track 2010

Cameron and Rachel are both in track this year.  Unfortunately I don’t have pictures of Rachel yet.  She often runs the last race of the evening, and by then it is too dark to get a good picture.  We have (I think) 2 more meets for me to try.  I’ll update if I get a good couple.  She  had to run the 2 mile in one meet and was NOT happy.  After that she’s been running the last leg of the 4 x 400.  I’m proud of her for sticking with it, although I’m thinking I had better get some good pics this year, ‘cause I don’t think she’ll do this again :-)

Cameron has been running a variety of races.  His favorite is the mile, where his best time so far this year is 5:00:17.  Pretty darned fast, I think!  He’s also run the 4 x 800, which isn’t his favorite, but he does it anyway.  He’s got a week or two left, but I think I’ve got my good pictures of him.  We’ll see if you agree.

Words of encouragement and advice for next time from Coach Frisch

Cameron doesn’t understand why I enjoy watching him run, but I really do.  Track is probably my least favorite activity that my kids do, but if he runs the mile and then gets to go home…I’m ok with that :-)

Great job this year, Cameron and Rachel!  I’m proud of you!!
