Caleb's Senior Scrapbook

Well, I'm plugging away (and doing so under quite a time crunch!) on Caleb's scrapbook.  I am ready to scrap his 2nd birthday!  (His 2nd year went MUCH faster than the first...I was much more selective in what pics I scanned, LOL)

I'm not going to share all the pages I've done here, but last night I scrapped one of my favorites so far.  It just makes me laugh out LOUD when I see it (or else makes me want to cry!)

OK...I've got several dozen more, but that gives a glimpse of what I've been doing lately.  Only 15 1/2 more years to go, and only 4 weeks to get it done!

Rachel's Track Meet

Rachel went out for track this year.  She's been running for a while, hoping to try cross country in the fall.  She now has two track meets under her belt.  She has a bit of "performance anxiety".  She does well in practice but just gets so nervous before a meet!  She is improving though!  Tonight, she didn't hit a single hurdle on the way over!  (Last meet she hit every single one!)  She also beat someone in tonight's meet, and last meet...well...she didn't beat anyone.  So, she's pretty bummed, but I say "Hey!  You are getting better with each meet!  Way to GO!"

Piano Recital

Rachel had a piano recital this afternoon.  She opened the recital, playing the theme to the Pink Panther.  She did great, although she is quite embarrassed that she "lost her place" for a moment.  After a few other folks played, she took a turn on the electric keyboard, set to organ sound, to play the classic hit "Let It Be", where she, again did an awesome job!  She also played the finale, "Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)".  We are so proud of her!

Caleb went to his Senior Prom last night.  He had a great time!  He looked handsome, and Katie looked beautiful, and they had lots of fun!  Didn't they look GREAT?

The End of The Tree

The huge tree is pretty well gone now.  The trunk still needs to be removed, but it is down...it was a HUGE project, and one I know several people are glad is finished!

"My Dad Rocks"

Ethan had to write a paragraph about someone that he knows that has made a difference in his life.  Here is his paragraph.

"My dad has made a big difference in my life.  He is my pastor, so he teaches me about God.  He teaches me how to pray.  As my dad he teaches me a lot of stuff, too.  My dad teaches me how to take care of our dog, and how to play games.  My dad rocks!"

(I think Ethan's dad rocks, too!)

Another Track meet!

This was the first "regular" track meet and Cameron did really well!  He's had a couple more since then, where he hasn't performed as well, but this one...he ROCKED!  It was fun to watch him, and also fun for him to run with Aunt Martha, and Grandma and Grandpa Koch watch him run!

Cameron is usually easy to spot 'cause he's the one with all the hair!  :-)

P1010498

Cameron and Josh often go back and forth between which one has the fastest time.  This night, Cameron beat Josh.  Josh has beaten him a couple of times since then.

P1010500

Go get 'em, Cameron!

Still More Spring Yardwork

The big tree is almost gone, and that in itself was a huge job.  We've been picking up sticks and raking leaves and brush and such and burning some of it in our Weber grill!  (Hey...we live in town..we have to get rid of it any way we can, LOL!)

IMG_9194

Lester was a huge help in getting the yard cleaned up!

IMG_9212

There were lots of conversations on exactly how things should be done.  :-)

IMG_9172

and some tree climbing, too!
