The kids love it when they ask "what's for supper?" and my response is "Ice Cream Sundaes!" (Aubri...have you converted Phil to accepting this for a Sunday evening meal yet?...we think of him EVERY time we have Sundaes for dinner!)
Tonight I went all out and made homemade hot fudge sauce. I'll never go back to store bought fudge sauce...this stuff is so yummy and very easy to make!
Hot Fudge Sauce
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/2 t. salt (I often omit this)
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 cup water
- 2 T. butter
- 2 t. vanilla
Combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt in saucepan. Add milk, water and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until boiling. Cook for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Stir in vanilla. Serve over ice cream.

That sounds good.. but I was good and bypassed the ice cream aisle :-)
Oh my gosh that looks good. Maybe I could get him on the "It's Sunday, it only makes sense to have a Sundae on Sunday" argument. I can always hope. I'd be happy if he'd let me just make pancakes and bacon for supper. That's a NO go too. Poor me. :(
Really...you have ice cream or supper? I should try it...sounds scrumptious!
Bless your heart! Yum...
