I'm glad God closed this trip with such a beautiful sunset...I already can't wait to see an ocean sunset again!
Faith, family, food and fun are priorities in my life. I hope to share my faith, family activities, day to day recipes and the fun of my life (and sometimes, the not so fun aspects, too!)

One Picture
For this whole week, there is just this one picture of all four of us. We are thankful to God for the friendship of this family! We got along great and had lots of fun and laughs this week!
at the Luau
Jimmy Buffet's Surfside
is just like Margaritaville. The menu is the same, and so is the atmosphere. It's one of my favorite restaurants. We ate there on Friday night.
Caleb and Sam enjoyed the entertainment.
Caleb was looking forward to the Volcano Nachos!
Yay! He did it! Even the waiters were cheering him on and encouraging him along!
Yum!
I had the fajitas. DELICIOUS!
Catching the Waves
I love the ocean. The waves are just awe inspiring and amazing to me to watch. I could do it for hours!
A Workout! (AKA Climbing Diamond Head)
It was a nice (HOT), sunny, (HOT), beautiful, (HOT) day for a hike up to the top of Diamond Head. I got my exercise for the week on that climb. But the view...way worth it!
that's where we are headed...all the way to the top!
might as well get started...
this is what we've already climbed!
time to stop for a breather. (No, really they politely waited for me to catch up!)
ok...back at the climb...
you want me to WHAT?? OK...they say it's close...
wow...
but we aren't at the top yet...
ahhhh....breathtaking (LITERALLY!)
Honolulu/Waikiki in the background
OK...after the tremendous view...it's time to head back down. Caleb and Sam did it in 13 minutes. Me...yeah..it took me a little longer.
Pearl Harbor Tour
Friday was a busy day of sightseeing and fun. We started out on a Pearl Harbor tour and tour of the city (by bus).
LOVE these trees! They look so cool!
This is at the Pacific National Cemetery
from a moving bus, it isn't easy to snap pics of Avacados growing on trees! But I tried!
At Pearl Harbor
We first saw a movie which was a good refresher for those of us in need of that history review. Then we took a ferry out to the USS Arizona Memorial.
The actual remnants of the USS Arizona...right where she fell on Dec 7, 1941. The men who died with the ship are still there.
What a sacrifice many made for us.
On to Honolulu
and Waikiki! Completely different world than Maui. Much more "city" life style than Maui, which was more like many villages....not so crowded. Still Hawaii...still beautiful...just very different!
After dinner, Caleb and Sam enjoyed the waves at Waikiki.
I had a delicious coconut shrimp. Expensive...only 5 shrimp...no side dishes...but absolutely THE best coconut shrimp I've had. That sauce was a sweet chili sauce and it was soooo yummy!
then to the beach.
Caleb and Sam WISH this was them...but really...
this was about what they could manage in these waves. Still a good time :)
