Crock Pot Mac and Cheese

Ok, I have searched and searched my blog for this recipe and I must not have posted it yet.  I can’t believe that I haven’t posted it because it is my very most popular, most requested, most raved about recipe (except for this Chocolate Mousse dessert, of course…but NOTHING beats chocolate, LOL)

Crock Pot Mac and Cheese

  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 shredded cheese (any kind/mixture of any kinds)
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups boiling water

Toss all ingredients in the (Reynolds crock pot liner lined!!!!) crock pot.  DO NOT STIR, cover and cook for 2 1/2 hours.

This is great with a layer of ham added, or a layer of pepperoni…or…whatever you’d like to try!

My Sister’s Crockpot Lasagna

is a HUGE hit with my family.  I get a big “YIPPEE” when it is discovered that I am making this recipe for supper!  And dang…it is SO easy!

  • 1 big jars of spaghetti sauce
  • 1 pound browned ground beef
  • 1 box of bow tie pasta
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 2-3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • parmesan cheese

Mix sauce and ground beef.  In separate bowl, mix sour cream and cream cheese.  Place a layer of sauce on the bottom of crock pot.  Top with part of the noodles.  Top with half the cottage cheese/cream cheese mix.  Add mozzarella.  (Pepperoni/mushrooms/onions/green peppers are all optional additions).  Repeat layers, ending with cheese.  Cover and cook on high for 4 hours.

PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION!!

disclaimer: I get NOTHING for saying this!)

BUY THESE!

Seriously!  These things ROCK!  No more scrubbing/soaking for the crock pot!  Just put one in your crock pot (one size fits most all crock pots) layer the lasagna, or crock pot mac and cheese or…whatever you are cooking.  Cook, serve and TOSS THE BAG.  That is it for cleanup.  Wow..I LOVE these things!

What happens when you take the tree down?

Well, you push and shove and stack and arrange and get all those boxes JUST where they need to be to fit in the LONG, DEEP closet.  And then, on your way out of the closet, you knock the whole toy shelf/coat rack off the wall and have a major mess on your hands.

I think it is a blessing…it’s God’s way of saying “hey…it’s time to go through all those coats that nobody wears!  It’s time to go through all those games that nobody plays.  Weed/toss/get rid of and clean.

So that’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow after school!  Why not?  Nothing else on my calendar!

Rose Bowl/New Year’s Day/Christmas Celebration

Everyone from Ron’s family except for nephew Jason was able to be at Martha’s for the Rose Bowl Celebration family Christmas celebration.  Go Buckeyes!  The game was the focus of everyone’s attention for the greater part of the late afternoon/early evening!

After the game (Go BUCKEYES!) we all read Luke 2 together, and then played a couple of games.

PIT

This game deserves a post all of its own! Art and Sandy brought some games to the party on New Year’s Eve. The hit of the night was the game of Pit. Here is what people look like while watching the game…
